Out and about

I haven't added anything for a long time so I thought I'd start again. I'm doing the 365 project on flickr so there's a lot about me on that.
As I just mess about I don't do anything spectacular like some folk. Yesterday I went for a ride in the woods on my bike. It's surprising how extensive they appear to be, yet I know I'm never far from the motorway.

Snow

Well it's a long time since I posted any thing here but anyone who reads it (Hello out there ...) will know that there is more info on my doings to be found on my flickr site. It's been snowing these last couple of days and I went out on my bike in it.

I'm back

I couldn't add anything because I couldn't remember my password! Or the one I thought was my password didn't work.What fun I've had since April. I've taught some moree Old Testament walk thrus but no New Testament ones yet.
I've finished the first year of the photo course that I was doing at Redhill, but I don't think that I'll go back next year.
I've just come back from the ordination of Bridget Banks to Christ Church URC and tomorrow it's Kevin's ordination as priest at St Mary's - what a weekend.

Walk Thru the New Testament

Last weekend (21 - 23 April) I went to a training session for New Testament instructors. The course was held at the Cambridge Services on the A14. We slept in the hotel, used one of the conference rooms and ate in the service station. It was all very convenient. The course was great, so much was packed into a short time. I wasn't very good at remembering the signs but it will come (I hope). Now all I need is to complete my first Walk thru the New Testament as an instructor, and I'll be qualified.

The gasman came to call

On Monday 3 April I decided that if I didn't cut back the bushes in the front garden I wouldn't be able to see out of the window! So I set to. I went into the garage to get some plastic sacks to put the cuttings in and smelt gas.
I rang British Gas who directeed me to the firm that deals with leaks. Within half an hour a man had come and verified that there was a leak but that it was coming up through the paved area in front of the garage. Soon more men came, dug a hole, cut out the faulty bit of pipe and capped it. Later that afternoon another two men came, enlarged the hole and threaded a plastic pipe inside the old steel pipe. Finally, at 9.00pm, another man came and turned the gas back on.
Over the next few days more men came, first to fill in the hole, then to replace the block paving and finally a man came to check that all was done properly and he took a photo of the finished job.
Now one would not know that anything had happened, it has been done so well.

I went up to London yesterday, Saturday 11 February, to a 'workshop' about found photographs at the Tate Modern. Actually the photographs were more that the original owners didn't have them any more. Perhaps because they didn't want them or perhaps because they had died and nobody knew about them; which I found rather sad. While I was there I went to Trafalgar Square and saw a rally against Islamophobia. It was all very orderly though there were a lot of police about. A polite young man came up to me and gave me a booklet about Mohammed.
